A Visit to Souq Al Mubarakiya

Q8 Expats Photography Club hosted a photography workshop in the oldest cultural market of Kuwait, Souq Al Mubarakiya. The main aim was to capture Portraits, Culture, Essence of old Market and ofcourse, Food 🙂

Souq Al Mubarakiya is a wonderfully restored classic Middle East market. There is none of the hawking or high pressure sales tactics of other markets in the region. It is very local, very laid back and extremely friendly with honest merchants. There is an amazing restaurant near the vegetable market that should not be missed. The hamour with sauce is amazing as is the pomegranate salad. The flat bread is the best you will ever eat. Somewhat spartan setting, but friendly service and amazingly low prices. Most of our friends think this is the best food in Kuwait and certainly the most memorable.
Some highlights of the workshop.
